Play Ludo Online - Learn How To Play Online Ludo

Ludo is a very beloved board game that originated from ancient Indian culture. The game originated from the game "Pachisi," which dates back to the 6th century, Ludo has evolved into a simpler, more streamlined version that continues to capture the hearts and minds of players worldwide.

Ludo is played between 2 to 4 players where every player is allotted 4 tokens and the goal is to move each token from the beginning to the end, that is, to enter each piece into the home before the opponents do. The game is derived from the ancient Indian game Pachisi and is known for its simplicity and the element of luck involved due to the roll of a die.

Traditionally the game is played with components such as a board, tokens, and dice. A board is a square, cross-shaped play area that is divided into four colored sections (red, green, yellow, blue). Tokens are pieces that are given to each player according to the chosen color and it is fixed that 4 tokens will be given to each player, the player has to move those tokens. The last one is a standard six-sided dice.

As the game evolved the offline format has shifted to the online one which offers betting options to the players. The game resembles the same rules in the online as well as offline format. Let's understand the online format and rules of ludo.

Online ludo can be played on your mobiles, iPads, and other devices. At the same time, you can play the game with anyone in the world.

Gameplay:

  1. Players take turns rolling the die.
  2. To move a token out of the base onto the starting square, a player must roll a 6.
  3. After a token is out of the base, it moves clockwise around the board according to each turn's die roll.
  4. Rolling a 6 grants an additional roll. Rolling three 6s in a row forfeits that turn.
  5. A player can only move their tokens to the home column if they have completed a full board circuit.
  6. Tokens can land on any square that is not already occupied by another token of the same color.
  7. If a player's token lands on a square occupied by an opponent's token, the opponent's token is sent back to their base and must be re-entered by rolling a 6.

Winning:

  1. The goal is to get all four tokens into the home column.
  2. The first player to do so wins the game. The game can continue to determine second, third, and fourth places.

Tips and Strategy:

  1. Decide according to the position of your token when to move a token out of the base versus moving a token already in play.
  2. Prioritize capturing opponents' tokens, this will increase your chance to win and the opponent's chance to lose
  3. Play safe and balanced while the token is near the home column. It will minimize the risk factor.

Variations:

  1. Team Play: Players form teams, and partners work together to get all their tokens home.
  2. Speed Ludo: A faster version with fewer squares or different rules for movement.

Ludo is a game that combines luck and strategy, making it enjoyable for all ages. Players, gamblers, and bettors started liking the digital version of Ludo, as it is convenient to play and have the most interesting betting option.
